The AOL Summer Internship Program
This highly competitive summer program will provide you with practical, real-world experience to prepare you for future career opportunities. You can showcase your talents to our hiring managers while looking forward to the possibility of working at AOL after you graduate. Only the strongest candidates who meet our eligibility requirements will be considered, but if you're selected, you'll get a peek inside the future of an incredibly exciting medium, and the company that is leading the way.

Activities
The majority of our interns work at our Northern Virginia and New York offices, where we hold many on-site events to enhance their personal and professional development:
- Orientation - Get immersed in the program right away through this informative discussion. We'll talk about our expectations, goals, people, security and evaluations to make sure you're off to a great start.
- Speaker Series - We hold these sessions throughout the summer. You'll connect with executives from AOL's different corporate groups who will discuss current issues and trends within the company and the industry, and provide a high-level overview of their organization.
- Professional Development - We hold various sessions during the summer to help you strengthen your professional skills covering such topics as Effective Career Search, Interviewing Skills, Resume Writing Clinic and others.
- Social Programs - From baseball games to intern mixers and BBQs, these events give you the chance to get to know the people you work with, while having a little fun.
Eligibility Requirements
Our summer program is extremely competitive — thousands of students submit their resumes each year for a chance to participate. So, to aid us in our selection process, we have established the following minimum requirements. You must be:
- Enrolled in school at the time of internship.
- 18 or older at the time of hire.
- Highly motivated and resourceful with a strong academic standing.
- Available to work a minimum of 8 weeks.
Application Procedures
Internship opportunities for our summer program are posted on the Job Search portion of our website each year, between February and April. We encourage you to submit your resume online directly to a specific opening that interests you. If you have the desired skills and background, an AOL recruiter will forward your resume to the hiring manager for review. A phone interview may be conducted, followed by additional interviews as necessary.
Please note that, due to the large number of resumes we receive, we will only contact you if you meet all of the eligibility requirements for an open opportunity that matches your skills. All intern recruitment is completed by early May.
You may also email your resume to us for general consideration:
First-Year MBA Students: Email your resume to: careers@aol.net, specifying source code /MBA1YR/ in your subject line.
Undergraduate and All Other Graduate Students: Email your resume to: careers@aol.net, specifying source code /CXXX/ in your subject line.
AOL Co-Op Programs
Through our co-op programs, students work part-time or full-time during a semester and receive course credit. The work experience they gain applies directly to their area of study and interests. We hire students through formal co-op programs run by their university career services office. Students interested can find out through their career services office if we currently have a program set up with their school. Co-ops are generally open only in our Northern Virginia and California offices.
